Certifications & Iconography

Conformité Européenne (European Conformity)

CE marking is a mandatory conformity mark for products placed on the market in the European Economic Area (EEA). With the CE marking on a product the manufacturer ensures that the product conforms with the essential requirements of the applicable EC directives.

Electrocoat Association

eCoat is a common term used to reference the painting process of electrocoating or electropainting. The process uses electricity to deposit the coating in liquid bath with an anode (anodic) or more commonly a cathode (cathodic). The coating is attracted to the part with the help of the electric field generated. eCoat offers 100% coverage on the exposed surfaces and a very consistent thin film build. This coating is used extensively as a primer for outdoor applications to prolong the protection on the metal surfaces for a far longer period of time.

Peerless-AV® employs eCoat as a base primer for all of its products designed and manufactured for outdoor applications.

Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC)

Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) is the branch of electrical sciences which studies the unintentional generation, propagation and reception of electromagnetic energy with reference to the unwanted effects (Electromagnetic interference, or EMI) that such energy may induce. The goal of EMC is the correct operation, in the same electromagnetic environment, of different equipment which use electromagnetic phenomena, and the avoidance of any interference effects. Testing is required to confirm that a particular device meets the required standards. It divides broadly into emissions testing and susceptibility testing.

Ingress Protection (IP)

The IP Code (or Ingress Protection Rating) classifies and rates the degrees of protection provided against the intrusion of solid objects. The standard aims to provide users more detailed information than vague marketing terms such as waterproof.

ISO 9001

ISO 9001 is an international standard that gives requirements for an organization's quality management system (QMS). It is part of a family of standards published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) often referred to collectively as the "ISO 9000 series" or "ISO 9000 family. The objective of ISO 9001 is to provide a set of requirements that, if effectively implemented, will provide organizations with confidence that their supplier can consistently provide goods and services that: Meet an organizations needs and expectations and comply with applicable regulations.

At Peerless-AV® we have invested to increase and expand capacity while adhering to the highest quality standards set by ISO. And we are committed to conforming to all national and global environmental standards, upholding our ISO 9001 compliance certification.

Made in USA

The Made in USA mark is a country of origin label indicating the product is “all or virtually all” made in the United States of America. The label is regulated by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).

Peerless-AV™ products are proudly manufactured in the USA. We establish the standards, we use the best materials and production processes, and we control our supply chain. Our engineering, development and manufacturing capabilities are organized into four product divisions to better serve our customers, all serviced by our own Peerless-AV™ sales and marketing team. Will Peerless-AV™, you know what you are getting and when you are getting it.

National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA)

NEMA is the association of electrical and medical imaging equipment manufacturers. NEMA advocates standards that play a vital part in the design, production, and distribution of products destined for both national and international commerce. NEMA publishes more than 500 standards, application guides, white papers, and technical papers.

Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD)

The Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD) Facilities Development Division (FDD) reviews and inspects facility construction projects and materials. FDD enforces building standards, per the California Building Standards Code, as they relate to facilities construction.

OSHPD Special Seismic Certification is completed in accordance with the standards set forth and applied to AV mounting structures as related to seismic safety. Structural calculations have been completed for select Peerless-AV™ models in accordance with these standards. Contact Peerless-AV™ Customer Care for further information

Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (RoHS)

RoHS, also known as Lead-Free, stands for Restriction of Hazardous Substances. RoHS, also known as Directive 2002/95/EC, originated in the European Union and restricts the use of six hazardous materials found in electrical and electronic products. All applicable products in the EU market after July 1, 2006 must pass RoHS compliance. RoHS impacts the entire electronics industry and many electrical products as well.

Underwriters Laboratories (UL) Listed

Underwriters Laboratories (UL) is a global independent safety science company offering expertise across five key strategic businesses: Product Safety, Environment, Life & Health, University and Verification Services. UL promotes safe living and working environments by the application of safety science and hazard-based safety engineering.

The UL Listing mark means that the product has been submitted to rigorous safety testing according to UL1678 and UL2442. For a mounting product to pass the UL approval process it has to be tested for strength and "pull out" to a minimum of four times its stated load capacity. (Do not exceed rated capacity in actual use.)

Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA)

VESA® supports and sets industry-wide interface standards for the PC, workstation, and consumer electronics industries.

Products that display this symbol feature a mounting hole pattern and mounting hardware compatible with VESA standard AV equipment. Most Peerless-AV™ products are compatible with a wide range of VESA standard AV equipment mounting hole patterns. Details on mount/equipment compatibility are explained in detail on each product page or product spec sheet.

WEEE (Waste electrical and electronic equipment)

If you’re buying a new electrical item, we will recycle your old one (and any other small electricals you have) for free.

Why recycle? Unwanted electrical equipment is the UKs fastest growing type of waste. Many electrical items can be repaired or recycled, saving natural resources and the environment. If you do not recycle, electrical equipment will end up in landfill where hazardous substances will leak out and cause soil and water contamination – harming wildlife and also human health.
